Free RoHS Exemption Extension Application Workshop
ComplyMarket is pleased to invite manufacturers, electrical and electronic equipment companies, compliance professionals, and industry representatives to a free one-hour workshop focused on preparing RoHS exemption extension applications as part of our Horizontal Project.
This practical session is designed for companies that rely on selected exemptions under Annex III of the EU RoHS Directive and need to prepare an extension application before the relevant exemption expiry dates. During the workshop, the ComplyMarket team will guide participants through the structure of the application and support them in preparing the information needed for submission before the relevant submission deadline.
RoHS Exemptions Covered
The workshop will cover the following exemptions:
- Exemption 6(a)-I, which expires on 31 December 2026 for all applicable categories.
- Exemption 6(a)-II, which expires on 31 December 2026 for all applicable categories.
- Exemption 6(b)-I, which expires on 31 December 2026 for Category 9 industrial monitoring and control instruments and Category 11.
- Exemption 6(b)-II, which expires on 31 December 2026 for Category 9 industrial monitoring and control instruments and Category 11.
- Exemption 6(b)-III, which expires on 31 December 2026 for Categories 1–8, Category 9 other than industrial monitoring and control instruments, and Category 10.
- Exemption 7(a), which applies to all relevant categories, except applications covered by Point 24 of Annex III, and expires on 31 December 2026.
What the Workshop Will Cover
During the one-hour session, we will explain the main elements generally required in a RoHS exemption extension application. Participants will receive practical guidance on describing the application, identifying the relevant exemption, explaining the technical need, documenting the absence of suitable alternatives, and presenting supporting evidence in a clear and structured format.
The workshop will also provide an overview of the submission process. Once the application package has been prepared, companies can submit it by email or post in accordance with the applicable instructions of the responsible authority. Participants should verify the latest submission requirements, contact details, and document format before sending their completed application.
This workshop is particularly relevant for product compliance managers, regulatory affairs specialists, material compliance teams, engineers, legal teams, sustainability professionals, and manufacturers placing electrical and electronic equipment on the European market.
