The guideline on the limitation of dangerous substances (Rohs) is an EU law that limits the use of certain dangerous substances in electrical and electronic devices (EEE).The following substances are limited:

• Lead (0.1%)
• Mercury (0.1%)
• Cadmium (0.01%)
• Six quality chrome (0.1%)
• Polybromized biphenyl (pbb) (0.1%)
• Polybromized Diphenylether (PBDE) (0.1%)
• To (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) (0.1%)
• Butylbenzylphthalat (BBP) (0.1%)
• Dibutylphthalat (DBP) (0.1%)
• Diisobutylphthalat (DIBP) (0.1%)

Rohs applies to the following categories of EEE:

1. Large household appliances
2. Small large household appliances
3. IT and telecommunications devices
4. Consumer equipment
5. Lighting equipment
6. Electrical and electronic tools
7. Toys, leisure and sports equipment
8. Medical devices
9. Monitoring and control instruments, including industrial monitoring and control instruments
10. Automatic donor
11. Other EEE that are not covered by the categories mentioned above

All products with electrical and electronic components must meet these restrictions, unless they are expressly excluded. 
Products that are affected by the Rohs directive must wear the CE license plate in order to comply with the raw commitments.
