Key Elements of Rohs UAE - Definition:

Product:Each item mentioned in Appendix (1) of this regulation, which operates through the use of electricity or electromagnetic fields and is intended to work with a voltage level not exceeding (1000) volts for alternating current and (1500) volts for direct current.

Certificate of Conformity:issued by an authorized institution to state that a product or part meets the approved standard requirements. This is a document that verifies the suitability of the product of regulations, standards, and relevant technical specifications.

 

Rohs UAE - Limited Substance

Product Scope:

1. Large household appliances
2. Small household appliances
3. IT and Telecommunications Equipment
4. Consumer equipment
5. Lighting equipment
6. Electrical and Electronic Equipment (except large -scale stationary industrial equipment)
7. Recreation toys and sports equipment
8. Medical equipment (with the exception of all implant products and infected products)
9. Monitoring and control instruments include industrial monitoring and control instruments
10. Automatic dispenser
11. Another EEE that is not covered in one of the categories above or, and is included in the definition of Article 1

Assessment of the suitability of the Rohs UAE key element

There are two types of evaluation and verification of compliance that can be used depending on which is more applied to producers or traders of the product:

1. Mandatory based on ecas
2. Model h under eqm

Mandatory based on ecas (option 1):

• If a complete product assessment for Rohs is not done, risk assessment must be submitted.
• People or entities that submit requests for Rohs compliance issued a Declaration of Conformity (DOC) which only includes important components of the product.
• Certificates issued by the Notification Agency are valid for a period of one (1) year.
• If the complete Rohs test is not available, the applicant must conduct a risk assessment and choose three high -risk components to be tested (one of which is an important component for electrical safety)
• The body that is told will check whether the product complies with the established spirit limits.

Model h under EQM (option 2):

• The applicant gives a document stating that the product meets related standards, known as the Declaration of Conformity (DOC).
• The applicant is required to provide relevant risk and documentation assessments in accordance with IEC63000 and IEC62476.
• Technical and verification audits are carried out by visiting the physical location of the applicant's facility.
• The body that was told to check whether the requirements were met and provided certificates and licenses to use EQM, which remained valid for three years.
