The Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive is an EU law that restricts the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (EEE). The following substances are restricted:

• Dibutyl phthalate (DBP) (0.1%)

RoHS applies to the following categories of EEE:

1. Large household appliances
< class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Small appliances < class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">IT and telecommunications equipment < class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Consumer equipment < class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Lighting equipment < class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Electrical and electronic vehicles < class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Toys, entertainment and sports equipment < class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Medical devices < class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Monitoring and control devices, including industrial monitoring and control devices < class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Automatic dispensers < class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Other EEEs that are not covered by any of the above categories

All products containing electrical and electronic components must comply with these restrictions unless specifically excluded.

Products affected by the RoHS directive must bear the CE mark to meet RoHS obligations.
