Conformity assessment of the Rohs key elements of the VAE
There are two types of evaluation and review of conformity that can be used, depending on which is better applicable to the manufacturer or dealer of the product:
- Mandatory according to ECAS
- Model H under EQM
Mandatory according to ECAS (option 1):
- If the complete product rating for Rohs has not been carried out, a risk assessment must be submitted.
- The person or organization that requests the RoHS conformity issues a declaration of conformity (DOC) that only comprises the critical components of the product.
- The certificate issued by the named area is valid for a period of one (1) year.
- If a complete raw test is not available, the applicant must carry out a risk assessment and select three high-risk components for testing (one of which is a critical component for electrical security).
- The named area checks whether the product corresponds to the defined Rohs limit values.
Model H under EQM (option 2):
- The applicant presents a document that shows that the product corresponds to the relevant standards, the so -called declaration of conformity (DOC).
- The applicant is obliged to submit a risk assessment and corresponding documentation in accordance with IEC63000 and IEC62476.
- A technical examination and verification is carried out by visiting the physical location of the application of the applicant.
- The named area checks whether the requirements are met and grants a certificate and a license to use the EQM, which is valid for three years.
What can you do now?
- Decide which certificate is best suited for your company: EQM or ECAS. Ecas is the best option for unique businesses
