EEE categories covered by WEEE:

- Small IT and telecommunications equipment (outer dimensions no more than 50 cm).
WEEE Directive Targets:
- Manufacturers must register with the national regulatory authorities in each EU country where the product is sold and report the sales volume of each type of product.
- The manufacturer shall set up or participate in an EEE collection system at the end of its life for recovery, reuse, and recycling targets.
- EEE must be marked with the crossed trash can symbol.
- Manufacturers must meet WEEE recovery, reuse, and recycling targets.
WEEE recovery, reuse, and recycling capability targets:
- For WEEE that falls under category 1 or 4 of Annex III, 85% must be recovered, and 80% must be prepared for reuse and recycling.
- For WEEE that falls under category 2 of Annex III, 80% must be recovered, and 70% must be prepared for reuse and recycling.
- For WEEE that falls under categories 5 or 6 of Annex III, 75% must be recovered, and 55% must be prepared for reuse and recycling.
- For WEEE that falls under category 3 of Annex III, 80% must be recycled.
