Understanding Proposition 65 Compliance for >California Businesses
Prop 65 requires businesses to provide warnings to residents of the state of California about their significant exposure to chemicals that have been determined by the state to be carcinogenic and/or cause reproductive harm. If you sell your products in the state of California, you may be affected under the following three circumstances:
< class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: kashida; text-kashida: 10%; mso-list: l1 level1 lfo1; tab-stops: list .5in;">Your products do not contain an item from the current Recommendation 65 list.
< class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: kashida; text-kashida: 10%; mso-list: l1 level1 lfo1; tab-stops: list .5in;">Your products contain one or more items from the current Recommendation 65 list (https://www.p65warnings.ca.gov/chemicals), but they are within the "safe harbor" boundary ( https://oehha.ca.gov/proposition-65/general-info/current-proposition-65-no-significant-risk-levels-nsrls-maximum) or the expected level of exposure is comprehensively regulated according to OEHHA regulations in such a way that it does not cause cancer or reproductive harm. These regulations are in accordance with Article 27 of the California Code of Regulations. Its heading is available in Item 7 and Item 8.
< class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: kashida; text-kashida: 10%; mso-list: l1 level1 lfo1; tab-stops: list .5in;">Your products contain a substance(s) from the current Proposition 65 list (https://www.p65warnings.ca.gov/chemicals) above the "safe harbor" limit and contain warnings to California residents of serious exposure to chemicals identified by cancer and/or The state is required to cause reproductive damage.
If the products are above the No Significant Risk Level (NSRLs) and Maximum Permissible Dose Levels (MADLs), the products should be labeled with a warning.
