Understanding Compliance Suggestions 65 For businesses selling products in California

Prop 65 requires business to warn California's people of significant disclosure of chemicals that have been identified by the state cause cancer and/or reproductive damage.If you sell products in the state of California, you may be impressed under the following three conditions:

  1. Your product does not contain any ingredients from the current 65 proposal.
  2. Your product contains ingredients/materials from the current list of suggestions 65 (https://www.p65warnings.ca.gov/chemicals), but is within the limit of “safe port” (https://oehha.ca.gov/proposition-65/general-info/current-proposition-65-no-significant-risk-levels-nsrls-maximum) or the expected level of exposure will not pose a significant risk to cancer or reproductive damage in accordance with Oehha rules, which are found inArticle 7andArticle 8In title 27, California Code of Regulations.
  3. Your product contains ingredients/materials from the current list of suggestions 65 (https://www.p65warnings.ca.gov/chemicals) exceeds the "Safe Port" limit and warning to the California residents of significant disclosure of chemicals identified by the state cause cancer and/or reproductive damage.

If the product exceeds the non -significant risk level (NSRLS) and the maximum allowable dose level (madls), the product should be labeled with a warning.

Examples of warnings look like this:

“Warning: This product can exemplify you to chemicals including arsenic, known to the state of California causing cancer. For more information, visit
www.p65warnings.ca.gov. "
